Activities available at Lees Wood

We have a climbing tower that is 30 feet tall and has 6 different climbs for all different types of climbers.

We can cater for the novice climber, on our 15 feet climb; up to the near impossible overhang for the more adventurous climber.

We provide all necessary equipment and qualified instructors so that any participant can enjoy their time on our wall whilst learning all the principles, which can be related to rock faces.

The climbing wall also has two 30 feet abseil faces.

:: Assault Course

We have an excellent assault course for our visitors to use. It contains a wall, balance beam, chain bridge, tyres, monkey bars, swing and scramble nets. There is also an extensive adjacent tunnel system suitable for all ages.

:: Rifle Range

At Lees Wood we have a .177 rifle range with 3 firing points.

We have our own instructors trained and qualified to relevant standards who willingly give up their time to allow our visitors to learn this activity in a safe and enjoyable fashion.

:: Archery Range

We know have an achery range as well.

:: Orienteering Course

We have access to a full and exciting orienteering course in adjacent Whippendell Woods. The course has a full 15 bases, which can take up to 2 hours, or shorter courses, depending on time and competence.
 

:: Pioneering

We have a great variety of pioneering equipment for the use of any of our visitors.

We can also, if advised in advance, run or organise activities using the relevant equipment.
 

:: Conservation and Service

Due to the size and type of campsite at Lees Wood we always have plenty of conservation and forestry projects available for our campers and visitors to partake in (preferably with prior notice, so that necessary equipment is available).
 

:: Other Activities

Conservation and Service & Forestry projects: we always have plenty of these activities available to our campers to partake in, preferably with prior notice.

Badge Courses & Backwoodsman Skills: It is possible for us to run any proficiency badge relating to camping or backwoodsman skills. Please give prior notice.
